Room Description
The Story behind Suite Room in Southern Panorama Camp Noel started way back in 1950s. Mr. Philip Modayil, the previous owner of this property was the Head Master of the English School in Munnar. He was an expert hunter too. Those days hunting was not strictly prohibited by law. He along with his brother in-law Mr. George used to visit this property on weekends, driving in his Morris Minor covering 40 kms, from Munnar Town. He erected a Cabin with thatched roof at a convenient location in this property. He used to hunt, Bisons, Sambar Deer, Spotted Deer, Wild Boar, Giant Squirrels etc. Most of these animals including Bisons visit Southern Panorama Camp Noel frequently even today. We erected a Hunters Cabin Twenty Feet High, exactly at the same spot, where Mr. Philip put his night shelter years ago. Mr. Philip died in Coonoor near Ootty in 2012. This Hunter's Cabin has a well furnished bedroom, bath attached, with T.V, Phone etc and a Balcony.
